The block is usually wheat and oil. The sachet is where the ruling lives: meat extract, hydrolysed protein, disodium inosinate/guanylate, and E471 on the cake.
Two-minute noodle check
- The cake. Palm oil and E471 on fried noodles. A baked cake avoids some of that, not all.
- Then the sachet. Chicken, beef or shrimp powder is a meat ruling. Hydrolysed vegetable protein is a different page.
- Then the enhancers. E621 MSG, E627 guanylate and E631 inosinate are cited rows. Yeast extract sits next to them.
