A full English is several rows on one plate. Black pudding is a blood sausage — cited haram. Pork pie is the pig. White pudding has no blood and is a fat/casing check. Fish and chips is samak plus a shared fryer.

Two-minute caff check

  1. Blood and pig first. Black pudding and blood sausage are cited haram (AHF blood; islamqa.info on flowing blood). Pork pie is the pig. Skip those or swap them.
  2. Then the rest of the breakfast. White pudding, scotch egg, sausage roll, Yorkshire pudding (beef dripping). Haggis is not black pudding — no blood in the traditional recipe.
  3. Then the chip shop. Fish and chips: the fish is samak, the batter may be beer, the fryer may be shared with a battered sausage. Mushy peas are plant.
