Muttoo · mashbooh is not haram
Five questions at the shelf
Keep this on your phone or print it. It is a procedure, not a fatwa.
- Is there a recognised halal mark from a body you actually follow?
One mark can settle every source-dependent additive on that SKU. A PDF from the same body is not a mark on this pack.
- Does a vegan or vegetarian statement rule out animal fat and gelatin?
Useful for E471, glycerin, stearates, gelatin. Silent on alcohol carriers. Silent on insect colour if the scheme allows it.
- Which animal-capable names are on the list?
Circle gelatin, E471 / mono- and diglycerides, glycerin, enzymes / rennet, flavouring, magnesium stearate, E120 / carmine, E904 / shellac.
- For each circled name: plant, synthetic, or which animal?
The E-number will not tell you. Email one specific question. Save the reply.
- If nobody can answer — it is mashbooh. Not haram. Not halal.
Doubtful means missing information. Muttoo will not convert that into a prohibition for you.
