Label map
Printed codes, not new rulings.
A pack may print E150a, E470a or E450(ii). That is a spelling of a substance already on file. This sheet sends the spelling to that row. It does not certify the pack, the factory, or the fat source.
What a code is
- Read the printed code. E150a is plain caramel. E470a is the sodium, potassium and calcium salts. E450 is diphosphates.
- Open the existing row. The label on that row is unchanged. A subclass alias is not an upgrade.
- Then the pack. A barcode, a photo, or this sheet does not certify a factory.

Source of the printed names: Food Standards Agency, Approved additives and E numbers. That list authorises additives. It is not a halal ruling. See methodology.
