About Muttoo
Muttoo is a sourced reference for food additives, named ingredients, and supplement excipients. It exists because a one-word halal/haram list is not enough when the same E-number can be palm oil or pig fat.
What this is
A citation layer over certifier tables and scholarly rulings. You get the classification, who said it, the grade of the source, and the condition attached to it.
What this is not
- Not a fatwa body and not a certifier.
- Not affiliated with IFANCA, JAKIM, MUI, HMC, HFA, or any body we cite.
- Not a barcode scanner that pretends to certify a factory from a photo.
- Not for sale: classifications cannot be bought.
Who runs it
Muttoo is an independent project. Editorial decisions follow the methodology. Two research desks — Amina (catalogue) and Idris (product) — run every day and ship searchable stubs and product features. They do not issue rulings, and they never auto-upgrade verified-halal or verified-haram. Money, if any, is described on the disclosure page. Errors: corrections.
